CASA Jeff Boring
Our April CASA of the Month is Jeff Boring!
Jeff came to Boulder Voices for Children in June of 2020 and was sworn in during the August 2020 ceremony. He has shown to have immense passion for serving children in Boulder County who have experienced trauma. Jeff has used his advocacy skills on three cases since he began volunteering as a CASA. Jeff began serving his most recent case in September of 2022. Jeff has excellent problem solving skills and has most recently served a case with a child who requires flexibility and quick thinking to meet the unique needs of this case. Jeff has shown how creative he can be on the fly when it comes to determining how to meet the child where they currently are at. Jeff has maintained contact with this child and been on top of the variety of changes that this case initially had with the placement of the child. Jeff has also ensured that the educational needs are being met when a change of placement did occur. Jeff has supported the needs of the foster family most recently by scheduling his time with the child around the foster family’s availability so that they too have some respite time to remain supportive in the home. Jeff has also identified and maintained a routine with the child while on outings in the community by being consistent in interactions and by finding common ground and getting to know the child’s needs when they share a snack at each visit. Jeff has recognized potentially upsetting challenges and has engaged in fun activities such as pretend play to help the child get his energy out in an appropriate manner. Jeff also has planned activities with the child so that the behavioral challenges are mitigated and thus helped to promote positive experiences for the child.
Jeff, your dedication to this case and our organization as a whole has been much appreciated.
Congratulations on being our April CASA of the Month! We are so thankful for all that you do.
