CASA Dia Savage
Our June CASA of the Month is Dia Savage!
Dia began advocating with Boulder Voices for Children in November of 2018 and she is currently serving on her third case. Dia’s first two cases involved the same youth, who she was able to support through both a Dependency and Neglect and a Juvenile Delinquency case. Dia is very skilled at working with older youth and helping them prepare to live independently, which has been beneficial in all of her cases. Dia was assigned to her third case in January 2023 and has already developed a strong connection to the youth she is advocating for.
Dia quickly became a source of consistency, as the youth experienced many changes and transitions. She works well with the case team and placement providers, facilitating productive conversation and ensuring the youth’s needs are consistently being met and her voice is heard. Dia is very engaged in supporting the development of her CASA youth’s independent living skills. She has even engaged in activities like taking the youth grocery shopping, then helping her prepare a family meal. She has also helped connect the youth to community groups for individuals who belong to the LGBTQ+ community, to support the youth’s sense of belonging.
Dia, congratulations on being our June CASA of the Month! You show remarkable dedication and commitment to being a voice for children who have experienced trauma in our community, and we are so thankful for all of your time, heart, and effort.
