Our February CASA Volunteer of the Month is Francis Campos

This month, we are honored to recognize Francis Campos for his continued dedication as a CASA volunteer. Francis has been a CASA since 2024 and is currently serving on his third case, a Truancy Prevention case, where he brings experience, consistency, and a steady presence to the youth he supports.

Francis shared that he had been interested in helping foster children for many years but wasn’t sure how to get involved. After a friend suggested volunteering as a CASA, he attended an information session, and he knew he had found the right organization and the right way to make a difference.

For Francis, one of the most rewarding parts of being a CASA is seeing a child’s difficult situation move toward something more stable and hopeful. While that long-term progress brings lasting satisfaction, he also values the small but meaningful moments, like when a child rushes out to greet him, which reinforces the importance of showing up consistently.

Francis is particularly passionate about prevention work, especially around school attendance. He understands how challenging it can be for students to catch up academically once they fall behind, and sees truancy prevention as a powerful way to support long-term success. As a self-described lifelong nerd who loves all things academic, this focus is especially meaningful to him.

Thank you, Francis, for your dedication, reliability, and thoughtful advocacy. We are grateful for the care and experience you bring to our CASA community and the youth you serve.
