Our October CASA Volunteer of the Month is Kristen Kellog

We are proud to recognize Kristen Kellogg as our CASA of the Month! Kristen has been a volunteer with Voices for Children, CASA of Boulder County since May 2024 and began serving on her very first case in August. She is currently advocating for a sibling pair and has already made an incredible impact on their lives.

Kristen shared that she chose to become a CASA because “every child deserves a safe, stable, and supportive presence in their life.” She wanted to be someone children could count on to listen, advocate, and consistently show up for them. Her advocacy goes far beyond the courtroom. She has been intentional about creating meaningful experiences for the children, helping them feel supported and connected. One highlight has been ensuring they could attend summer camp. Kristen shared, “I loved going to camp as a kid and wanted the children to have that experience too. The YMCA offered them free spots if I worked in the health clinic, so it all came together—I got to work at camp, they attended for free, and I was there if they needed anything.”

Kristen has also made sure the children have opportunities for joy and enrichment by visiting Luvin Arms Animal Sanctuary, attending Harlem Globetrotters game, and cheering them on at their soccer matches. By fostering these positive connections, Kristen supports both the children’s well-being and the family’s bond. Kristen says her favorite part of being a CASA has been watching the children develop confidence and emotional maturity. Over the past year, she’s seen them grow calmer in how they interact with each other and with adults, while also becoming more eager to try new things.

Thank you, Kristen, for your outstanding dedication and for embodying the true spirit of CASA advocacy!
