Our January CASA Volunteer of the Month is Rebekah Hartman

We are excited to recognize Rebekah Hartman as our CASA of the Month. Rebekah has been a CASA since February 2025 and has already made a strong impact through her dedication, compassion, and willingness to take on complex cases.

Rebekah shared that she became a CASA to connect directly with youth and show up for children facing adversity and trauma. Once her own children were grown and her schedule opened up, she felt ready to take the training and step into this role.

Rebekah is currently serving on two high-needs cases, one Truancy case and one Dependency and Neglect case. Both require consistent advocacy, follow-through, and collaboration across systems. Rebekah continues to show up for youth and families, even when circumstances are challenging or progress feels slow.

Through this work, Rebekah has reflected on her own privileges and gained a deeper understanding of how layered the human experience can be. She has also learned to navigate the slower pace of the legal system, building trust in the process and continuing to show up even when it is difficult or when outcomes are not immediate.

One of Rebekah’s greatest strengths is her ability to meet families where they are. She brings patience, empathy, and respect into every interaction and uses her skills in Spanish and American Sign Language to reduce communication barriers and strengthen her advocacy.

Thank you, Rebekah, for your commitment, persistence, and heart for this work. We are grateful for the care and consistency you bring to our CASA community and the families you support!
