CASA Tom Richebacher
Our August CASA Volunteer of the Month is Tom Richebacher
This month, we are honored to recognize Tom Richebacher for his dedication as a CASA volunteer. Tom was sworn in as a volunteer in June 2024 and is currently serving on his second case, where he brings compassion, thoughtfulness, and a strong commitment to building meaningful connections with the youth he supports. Tom has a gift for meeting youth where they are, advocating for their needs, and prioritizing the trust and relationship at the heart of effective CASA advocacy.
Tom shared that he decided to become a CASA volunteer because he has been fortunate in his own life, loves kids, and wanted to find a meaningful way to contribute. Through his service, he has found an opportunity to give back by supporting children and youth who need consistent, caring adults in their lives.
For Tom, one of the most rewarding parts of being a CASA volunteer is the opportunity to create hope and build trust with young people who may have had few reasons to expect either. He recognizes the importance of showing up, listening, and providing a steady presence for youth as they navigate challenging circumstances.
Tom shared that being a CASA volunteer has impacted him through the questions that arise throughout his advocacy journey. Those questions encourage reflection, learning, and a deeper understanding of the experiences and needs of the youth he serves.
Thank you, Tom, for your dedication, compassion, and thoughtful advocacy. We are grateful for the trust you build with youth, the hope you help create, and the care you bring to our CASA community.
