Kevin and Lisa became CASA’s for Boulder Voices for Children in June 2022. Kevin had previously volunteered as a CASA in Adams county and was referred to us by a current volunteer because of their knowledge and life experiences. They quickly joined the next academy and immediately accepted a case in which they had both experience, complex understanding, and severity of the situation.

When they were appointed to this case, they immediately addressed the medical and housing concerns they had. Their commitment to meeting with a variety of professionals; Medical professionals, DHHS, school professionals, and professionals involved with the case was apparent from the start.

These two have been recognized and tremendously appreciated by all, which is acknowledged during court proceedings when professionals on the case take the time to thank these two CASAs. They have become immediately effective as members of the case team and improved the health and safety of the children on the case. Most recent reports from medical professionals have recognized the improvement of the medical concerns for the children, which was prompted by the interventions by Kevin and Lisa. They continue to meet with the children to build rapport by coming up with creative ways to let the children lead the visits. They have had a huge impact on this family as they continue to recommend ways they can support the needs of the case.
