Dear CASA Community,

October is a month of reflection, resilience, and action. Across the nation, we observe Domestic Violence Awareness Month and National Bullying Prevention Month, two causes deeply connected to the mission of Voices for Children, CASA of Boulder County.

Both domestic violence and bullying are rooted in abuse of power and control. And both can leave lasting harm on children, whether they are direct victims or witnesses. Research shows that children who experience or observe violence in their homes and communities often face higher risks of trauma, academic struggles, and challenges in building safe, trusting relationships.

At Voices for Children, we believe that every child has the right to grow up in a safe and nurturing environment. Our CASA volunteers (Court Appointed Special Advocates) stand beside children in the child welfare system, ensuring their voices are heard and their needs are prioritized in court and beyond. This month, as we raise awareness around these issues, we also celebrate the advocates, community partners, and supporters who work tirelessly to break cycles of abuse and empower children toward brighter futures.
