Celebrate Self Care This September!

September Newsletter

A Note From Our CEO

Dear CASA Community,

September marks National Self-Care Month, a time to pause, reflect, and honor the importance of well-being in our lives. At Voices for Children, we are especially mindful of this message as we think about the incredible CASA volunteers who dedicate themselves to advocating for children in foster care.

Our CASA volunteers embody compassion, resilience, and commitment. They give their time, their hearts, and their voices to ensure that children who have experienced abuse and neglect are truly seen and heard. Yet, as any caregiver or advocate knows, giving so much of oneself can only be sustained when balanced with intentional self-care.

That is why this month, we are lifting up the message that caring for others begins with caring for ourselves. To our CASA volunteers: your work changes lives. And just as you remind children that their well-being matters, we remind you that yours matters too. Taking time to rest, reflect, and restore ensures you can continue making a lasting impact in the lives of the children we serve.

It is also important for all of our stakeholders—supporters, staff, community partners, and friends—to take care of themselves as well. When we each prioritize our well-being, we strengthen the collective community that stands ready to support the vulnerable children we serve.

On behalf of the entire Voices for Children community, thank you for the heart you bring to your service. During National Self-Care Month, and every month, we honor not only what you do, but who you are.

With gratitude,

Margaret Bachrach

Unity in the Community

Voices for Children was thrilled to join the Unity in the Community Festival on Friday, August 22. This amazing event brought together over 100 local businesses and nonprofits. We were honored to be a part of the fund, and among the three nonprofit organizations that received the Unity Funds the Community grant award! We are so grateful for our Longmont Community!
